Using Dropbox

Before every migration it is good practice to backup your data safely!

I advice you to use PocketMoney Sync to synchronise your data, however, if you prefer, you can also use Dropbox, provided that you have PocketMoney Desktop. This procedure does not work with PocketMoney (1 and 2), due to the absence of Dropbox support in PM1 and the expiry of Dropbox APIs in PM2.

Here is the procedure for PocketMoney desktop for Windows:

Locate where your PocketMoney file is saved, inside of the folder you will find the database file with an .sql extension.

Open your Dropbox folder and locate the folder called “Apps”. Inside of this folder create a folder called “PocketMoneyGT” and copy inside of it the file with the .sql extension.

Open PocketMoney GT, from the settings section sign in and connect your Dropbox, then go to the left slider menu and select Dropbox and restore.

Here is the procedure for PocketMoney desktop for Mac:

Locate where your PocketMoney file is saved, you will have to right click on the file and select the option “show package content”; inside of the folder you will find the database file with an .sql extension.
