Thanks for the suggestion.
Right now my suggestion is to set the tip to exact then move the slider until you get something that is close.
My settings are round up, tax rate of 10%. If I set the bill amount to $50 and tip rate to 20% then the tip is $9.09 and total $59.09. If I have round total or round tip set then it will round to $10 tip and $60 total. Setting it back to Exact and moving the wheel until I get something close to $60 shows that 22% is the exact.
So, unless you need the exact tip amount for some reason. The 2% fluctuation in the tip percentage for the rounding up seems unlikely to cause most people to say. Rounding this up to the next dollar raises their tip from 20% to 22% so I'm not going to round up.
It makes the biggest difference with smaller amounts (less than $10). Say $10 total, 15% tip, and 10% tax rate. Has a total of $11.36 rounded up $12 up means you are tipping at 22%, or rounded down only tipping 11%.
Of course people could be using CheckPlease in ways I've never thought of where knowing that when I round up that $50 bill at 20% tip, that I really need to know the tip percentage is 22%.
I don't think it adds anything to the application, so I'm leaning against adding it.
