If you have to upgrade from PM 1 to PM GT and you have never bought PocketSync before (in PM 1 was an in-app whereas in PM 2 was included in the price), you won’t be able to migrate your data using PocketSync. Therefore there is another option which involves using a desktop and iTunes alone or iTunes + Dropbox:
iTunes Alone:
- Connect your iPhone with a cable to your computer and go to iTunes (on the desktop)
- In iTunes, go to your phone and the list of app installed (available under the section “File Sharing”), you will see the old PocketMoney and you will be able to see the “.sql” file which is PocketMoney database
- Copy / drag the file to your desktop
- In iTunes, go to your phone and the list of app installed, you will see the new PocketMoney and you can upload there the “.sql” database file you copied on your desktop.
- Open your PocketMoney and check everything is working properly.
iTunes + Dropbox
- Connect your iPhone with a cable to your computer and go to iTunes (on the desktop)
- In iTunes, go to your phone and the list of app installed (available under the section “File Sharing”), you will see PocketMoney and you will be able to see the “.sql” file which is PocketMoney database
- Create a folder inside of Dropbox main folder called “Apps” (most probably if you are a Dropbox user you already have this folder)
- Inside of the “App” folder create a folder called “PocketMoneyGT”
- Copy the “.sql” file from iTunes to Dropbox folder (apps/pocketmoneyGT/)
- Open PocketMoney GT on your iPhone and login to Dropbox and restore the file
